1) (RS) 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 1 dc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. (15)
I crochet tight so while others usually chain 3 to start a dc row, I only ch 2. I will write it how I do it but be advised you may need to adjust for your own tension.
2) Ch 2 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of nxt 2 dc. Ch 2. Skip nxt 2 dc. 1 dc in each to end of row. Turn.
3) Ch 2 (counts as dc). 1 dc in eac dc to ch 2 space. 2 dc in ch 2 sp. 1 dc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
4) Ch 2 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of nxt 8 dc. Ch 2. Skip nxt 2 dc. 1dc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
5) Same as 3rd row.
6) Ch 2 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of nxt 3 dc. Ch 2. Skip nxt 2 dc. 1 dc in each dc to end of row. Turn.
7) Same as 3rd row. Do not turn.
Edging: Ch 1. Work 1 round of sc around outer edge of cheese. Remember to have 3 sc in each corner to maintain squareness. Join with sl st to 1st sc
