Twinkle Bunny Lovey and Rattle

A new lovey pattern which also includes patterns for 2 types of rattles.

Soooo I was looking to see if there were any patterns and tutorials for fabric embellished loveys out there and my search came up dry. I decided to make my own. I also figured there would probably be others out there too that have searched for similar things and might be interested too.

I know there are other lovey patterns out there but I didn’t even take a look at any of them past the main image. I wanted to go into designing this one blind without any outside influence. Any similarities to other patterns is purely coincidental and unintentional on this one.

I used part of my Color Match Egg pattern to get the shape for the hands and feet without having to reinvent the wheel as it were. And I did use the universal pentagon pattern that has been out there before the internet even existed as the base for the body. But the rest just kind of happened as I went along.

There is also a bonus rattle pattern included! 2 styles are included. The first one is a ring style pattern but I thought that might be too challenging to add fabric to so I added a straight handle option too.

There is also oodles of pictures and a written explanation walking you through every step of getting the same results you see in all the sample images you will see here.

I used a medium weight #4 worsted yarn and a 3.0 mm hook. Of course, gauge isn’t really important on this project as loveys can have some variation in size.

I was thinking of having a contest to name this blossoming series of loveys and give the pattern for free to whoever came up with the best name. However, my 6-year-old son said they looked like stars and called them Twinkle Loveys. Sorry folks, he wins. The file is a 9 page PDF. I kept all of the written instructions on the first pages and followed it up with all the detailed photos with captions to keep it as printer friendly as possible. That’s one thing I like to look for when I’m buying patterns and I thought you might enjoy it too.

There are also a few pictures to guide you on stitching both face options but there is an even more detailed step-by-step tutorial HERE.
