Celia

Celia is #03 of the 2024 Happy Scrappy Cat Project. She is going to be hosted as a free crochet along in the Hateruma Handmade Community Facebook group. Starting on February 2nd, 2024 and continuing until a date to be determined, Celia’s pattern will be available to view and use FREE right here on this page. Scroll down.

Celia is about 8.5″ to the top of her head in a seated position when worked in #4 medium worsted weight acrylic. Standing she measures a whopping 14″ from toes to tips of ears.

Celia is also available to purchase as an ad-free PDF at anytime at Ravelry.

I used less than 60g skein of the main color #4 medium worsted weight acrylic yarn and a 3.0 mm hook for all cats. Since this is a scrap project, I do not have yarn names or exact amounts to list. However, most of my yarn was purchased at Daiso in Japan.

Gauge is not important but make sure all of your yarn is the same weight.

Stitches used in American terminology:

MR – magic ring
sc – single crochet
ch – chain
inc – increase (by creating 2 sc stitches together into the same space)
dec –decrease (by joining 2 sc stitches together with a single stitch)
sl st – slip stitch
hdc – half double crochet
DC – double crochet
TR – triple crochet
FO – finish off
FLO – front loop only
BLO – back loop only

Pattern is worked in the round and stuff as you go unless otherwise noted.

Assembly
Use the following photos to find exact placement for pieces.

After sewing the head to the body, I sewed my arms onto the body at the round where the white neck meets the dark pink body, centered on both sides. The feet and tail are all sewn starting between rounds 6 and 7 at the beginning of the body. The top of nose patch was placed at round 20 of the head, counting down from the magic ring. The top of the eyes will fall at about round 13, with about 8 stitches between them. The ears are positioned starting between rounds 2 and 3 on the top of the head set slightly toward the back, lining up with the back edge of the arm as seen from the side.

Congratulations! You have completed a cat!
