Dear David

This past Christmas I designed patterns to honor my parents. For my mom, I designed the Linda Angel. For my dad, it just had to be a deer.

All of my life the men in the family would go Whitetail deer hunting. Never trophy hunting. As a family on the poorer side of the spectrum we always ate whatever was harvested. Well, my dad can’t go hunting anymore and I wanted him to have a little deer by his side to remind him of all the quiet hours spent in the forest. I couldn’t find anything already designed that fit the bill of what I was looking for, so I created my own. Now I’d like to share that creation with all of you! Please meet Dear David, named for my father.

The body is worked entirely as one piece. I hate sewing so I really try to make most of my designs with the very minimal of sewing. I also didn’t use any wire in mine so I don’t include any instructions on wiring. That is up to you if you would like to wire it.

My little team of testers breezed through this with little difficulty. They helped advise me and I added a ton of pictures to the pattern to eliminate any confusion. But I’m always available to answer any questions you might have!

Editing to add that there are now a couple of videos to get you through the 2 parts I had questions about. You can find them at the link below.

It looks great with the antlers the other way around to be a reindeer too!
