Fish Rattle by Anne Bank Nielsen

Oh my word! Can I just say that I LOVE this pattern!

I had the pattern for awhile but I didn’t have much experience with crocheting details right on the body so I kind of kept putting it back in my files. Then I suddenly needed a great baby gift in 2 days and thought, “What the heck? I’ll give it a shot.”

Boy am I glad I did! I have nothing but great things to say about this pattern. It is flawlessly written and so incredibly detailed with graphics and pin point directions for where to insert your hook. I still can’t believe it’s FREE!

My rattle in the image was done with worsted weight (medium) acrylic yarn and a 3.0 mm hook. The head part was a bit too small for any of the rattle inserts I had on hand so I just tossed in a couple of small jingle bells and that did the trick.

I highly recommend this rattle pattern if you want to wow the crowd at even the most discerning of baby showers.  It’s definitely going to be my “go to” baby gift from here on out.

Thank you so much, Anne Bank Nielsen!

I have been having a blast making these in different fun colors.
